Florence Matilda Mehr, age 96, of Hudson, formerly of St. Cloud, MN, passed away on July 1, 2012 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.
She was born on August 14, 1915 to Peter and Kathrine (Langer) Sauer in Rice, MN where she attended school. On October 11, 1945 she married Victor Mehr and they shared 61 years of happy marriage.
Florence loved to bowl and was a beautiful knitter. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. Florence loved spending time with her family and many friends, and was very loved by all who knew her as Grandma Flossie.
Florence is survived by her children, Vic (Jolayne) Mehr of North Hudson, WI; and Mary (Dave) Fuglem of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Michael (Jill) Mehr of New Richmond, WI, Vicki (Kris) Kopp of East Farmington, WI, and Joshua (Genelle) Fuglem of Duluth, MN; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Katelyn, Lily, Ava, Nora, Zachary, and Mercedes; and sister, Marie Mehr of Paynesville, MN.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Victor; parents; and 7 siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be held at a later date at Camp Ripley National Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
