Florence L. Kicker-Peterson age 99 of Hudson died peacefully Friday September 3rd, 2010 at Christian Community Home in Hudson.  Florence was born on November 25, 1910 in Mora, Minnesota. She was raised in Henriette, MN and graduated from St. Cloud State, with a teacher’s degree and taught school before she was married in 1936 to George Kicker.  In 1948, they were blessed with a daughter, Kathy.  Florence was very proud to help establish the first Kidney Foundation in Mpls. George preceded her in death after 43 yrs of marriage.  She was a past member of the VFW Auxiliary and a 50 + yr. member of the Eastern Star Ladies’ Shrine. In 1980, she married Donald Peterson. For many years they made Willmar their home. In 1999 they moved to Hudson.  She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and round & square dancing. They enjoyed wintering in McAllen, TX.

Florence is survived by her husband Donald, daughter Kathy (Joey) Corcoran of Hudson, grandchildren Corey Corcoran, Holly (Loren) Johnson, great-grandchild Kaden Johnson, and brother Blaine (Betty) Olson. She is preceded in death by her first husband George, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral service for Florence will be 11AM Thursday September 9th at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 3rd Street in Hudson. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
