Florence Rosa Christenson, 92, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the River Falls Area Hospital.

Florence was born on May 1, 1922 in Ellsworth to Fred and Lizzie (Greske) Myer. She married Irwin Christenson on September 1, 1945. They farmed together until their retirement in 1976, when they moved to town. Florence immediately took a job at the local grocery store, with Kermit Larson. She remained there through different owners and retired when Nillsen’s bought the store. Florence loved to read, bake cookies and make jelly. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Beldenville.

Florence is survived by her daughter Alice (Jim) Butler, Eagan, MN.
Granddaughter Elizabeth (Joel) Holden; and great-grand-son Jameson Holden.

She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Irwin in 1994, parents, and sisters, Elizabeth Anderson, Ann Grape, and Alleyne Halls.

Funeral services for Florence will be at 11:00am, Monday, January 19, 2015 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Beldenville, WI. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be fro one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Monday.
