Frances “Fran” Patt

Frances Jo “Fran” (Swinney) Patt, of Lilydale Senior Living, and Bella Vista, AR; devoted wife, mother, grandmother, died peacefully Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Carondelet Village in St. Paul surrounded by her loving family.  Fran was born July 19, 1925 and raised in Benton, IL by her parents Oscar Thomas Swinney and Perna Joplin Swinney.

Fran graduated from the Barnes School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO and married Walter Henry Patt, MD in 1946.   Fran and Walt lived in Brookings, SD for 34 years, and then retired to Bella Vista, AR in 1984.  Fran and Walt were active members of the Bella Vista Village, with golf, and memberships on several community Boards of Directors. 

Fran was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Thomas Swinney, her mother Perna Joplin Swinney, infant sister Jane Elizabeth Swinney, and brother Dr. William Joplin Swinney.  Dr. Walter Patt, her husband of 59 years died in 2006. 

Fran is survived by her daughter Suzanne Patt (Michael) Cullen of Sanibel, FL and her son William Henry (Kristin) Patt of St. Paul, MN, and seven Grandchildren: Christopher Cullen of Aliso Viejo, CA, Mary Frances (Joe) Cullen Park of Denver, CO, Amy Bridget Cullen of Chanhassen, MN, Meredith (Tyler) Willman of Dubuque, IA, William Henry, Harrison Joplin and Frances Faley Patt, of St. Paul, MN, and three Great-Grandsons, Reilly Cullen of Chanhassen, MN, Cullen and Brecken Park of Denver, CO.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Carondelet Village Chapel, 525 S. Fairview Ave., St. Paul, MN 55105 with private interment of ashes at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Paul, MN at a later date. 

The family requests memorials to PEO STAR Scholarship Fund c/o PEO International, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312.
