Frank Richard Falteisek

Frank Richard Falteisek, age 86, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at his home in rural Prescott. Frank was a quiet, humble and unassuming man, who greatly loved his family, friends and country.

Frank was born on April 10, 1930 to Mildred (nee Unzeitig) and Joseph Falteisek Sr. in Trimbelle, WI. Four months after he was born, his mother Mildred died. Frank was then raised by his paternal aunt and uncle, Michael and Marie Fuerst in Skokie, IL. He was baptized at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Skokie, IL on August 17, 1930. Frank attended St. Peter’s Catholic and Lincoln School in Skokie, IL. When 14 years old, Frank moved back to Trimbelle, WI. Frank was in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. Frank married Sylvia Dobos on June 23, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott. Frank received his G.E.D. in 1970. He worked at St. Croixdale Hospital for 38 years before retiring. After retirement, Frank was known for collecting and recycling cans. Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Prescott American Legion Post and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Frank loved to play cards and games and was very proud of his family.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; daughter and husband, Cindy and Bill Penker, son, Chris Falteisek, son Andy Falteisek and friend Deb O’Donnell, daughter Denise LaCroix and fiancé, Rich Cornell; granddaughter Felicia Roland, grandson and wife, Jeremiah LaCroix and Nikki Bethel and great-granddaughter, Jayden Bethel; sister Mary Ann Even; brother, Ken Kakac and sisters-in-law, Bev Falteisek and Jean Kranz.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Joe Falteisek Sr.; stepmother, Marie Kakac; brothers and sisters, Emil (Marcella) Falteisek, Rudy (Evie) Falteisek, Mildred (Emil) Urbanski, Josie (George) Drevnick; Joseph Falteisek Jr., Raymond Falteisek, Ed (Florence) Kakac, Gladys (John) Malone and Walter Kakac and brother-in-law Albert Kranz.

Pallbearers are Chuck Laehn, Alphone Skwira, Walt Matzek, Jim Hovel, Bernie Drevnick and Harland Schultz.

Frank and Sylvia had planned to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 18, but instead a celebration of Frank’s life will take place.

Visitation will be on Saturday morning, June 18 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott, and the Mass of Resurrection is at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Military honors provided by the veterans of Castelloe-Madsen American Legion Post #61, Prescott, WI

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
