Frederick “Boots” A. Staberg, age 94 of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. Fred was born on May 15, 1926 in Hudson, to James and Bertha (Miller) Staberg. He grew up in Hudson and attended Hudson High School, before entering the workforce. Fred served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Upon his return to civilian life, Fred’s son Dennis was born. Fred worked as a machinist for several manufacturing companies, but spent most of his career with, and retired from, the American Can Company in St. Paul, Minnesota. While growing up, Fred enjoyed fishing, and later as an adult became fond of hunting. Fred loved tinkering in his garage and spent lots of time fixing and building things to help his family and friends.
Fred is survived by his son, Dennis (Mary) Staberg; siblings, James Staberg and Annette DeWitte; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Ruth Staberg; and brother-in-law, Ken DeWitte.
