Gary Briske

A good man died March 30, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Gary Maurice Briske, age 77, was born in Rochester, Minnesota on Tuesday, February 22, 1944 to Iola and LaVern Briske.  He was the only son, followed by sisters LaVonne Glidden and Anita Goetz.  

He was married to Nancy Jo (Bundy) Briske in Rochester, Minnesota on July 3, 1965.

After graduating from John-Marshal High School in Rochester, Minnesota 1962 he went on to attend Rochester Community College, until he entered the US Marine Corp for 2 years. Gary attended the DeVry Institute of Technology and other educational pursuit, obtaining his degree in electronical engineering.  His 30 year career as a quality engineer for 3M company took him to many parts of the United States and Europe.

He enjoyed meeting new people, stamp collecting, fly tying, wood carving and reading.  He built and maintained A Little Free Library in his yard.  He was grandfather to all children that stop by.  Gary enjoyed the people that he served in the Hudson Food Shelf.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife and closest friend for 56 years Nancy Jo (Bundy) Briske, daughters Deb Briske and Heather Briske and grandchildren Logan Howley, Peter (Kristen) Howley, Micaela Howley, and Ian Howley. Great grandchild Emyrs Howley.  Sisters LaVonne (Bruce) Glidden and Anita (John) Goetz.

A Memorial Gathering of Friends & Family will take place from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Monday, April 5th, 2021 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. If you wish to view Gary’s private family service it will be live streamed at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, April 5th. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.

Whenever he met someone, he called them friend and would know their life story.  He could always see the good in any person.
