Gary Grant Heckendorn – Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend – passed away on October 26, 2022 at the age of 85 in Woodville, Wisconsin. Gary was born to Myron and Hilda Heckendorn, in Washington State, on June 22nd, 1937. His brother was Wayne and his half sister is Susan. Gary spent time in his early life serving in the Marine Corps. When asked how long he served, Gary would say “8 years, 7 months, and 2 days” not that he was counting.

Gary met Wanda and they were married some time thereafter. Together, they would go on to raise 4 children: Kerry, Todd, Tony, and Krista. Their grandchildren are Harry, Sarah, Carol Ann, Taylor, Jacob, Nicole, Joshua, and Elizabeth. Their great grandchildren are Colton, Ellie, and Forrest. Gary was an avid storyteller and he had many great stories to tell. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. And if I can take a moment to break the forth wall and say, I love you Grandpa. I hope you are at peace and we will remember you always.

Gary is preceded in death by his father Myron, his mother Hilda, and his brother Wayne. He is survived by his half sister Susan, all his children Kerry, Todd (Johna), Tony (Sara), and Krista, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dear friends Bill and Mary Ann.

Private family services will be held for Gary on a later date.
