Gary Jay Krieger, 80, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 8th at his home with his family by his side.
Gary was the youngest of eight children born to Harold William & Alpha Mae (Smithson) Krieger. He was born on May 25, 1938 in Jefferson, Greene Co., Iowa. Gary grew up in Perry, Dallas Co., Iowa & graduated from Perry High with the class of 1957. Gary married Carolyn Lee Northup on February 2, 1963 at St. Patrick’s Church in Perry. They were blessed with three children.
After high school, Gary worked for the state of Iowa doing surveying work for what would become Interstate 80. He worked for the newspaper industry & was also a gifted assembler, working at several companies that made very large machinery. In retirement, he enjoyed tooling around his acreage on his tractor or lawn mower. He also enjoyed meeting his buddies at the Baldwin McDonald’s, solving all the world’s problems over lunch.
Gary is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Wilson; his daughters, Deborah (Daniel) Christian of Wilson, & Barbara (Clifford) Zevenbergen of Muskego, WI; daughter-in-law, Regan Krieger of Pewaukee, WI; grandchildren, Aaron (Aimee) Zevenbergen of Goose Creek, SC, Kymberlee (David) Solnok of Muskego, WI, Danae Krieger & Renata Krieger of Pewaukee, WI; Gary’s adored great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jamison & Selah Solnok of Muskego, WI, & Cooper & Graham Zevenbergen of Goose Creek, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his seven siblings, & his son, Mike, who passed away in 2010.
