Gary L. Hesse

Gary Hesse, long time part-owner of the Green Bay Packers, age 81 years old, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. As a young man, Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved fly-fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping. In his later years Gary demonstrated his love of nature through his photography. Indoors, Gary was well dressed, had a fantastic sense of humor with a quick wit, an easy laugh, and a warm smile.
Defying the odds for nearly three decades, Gary outlived most of the flat-bellied experts who cared for him after a major stroke at 50 while keeping a nutritional regiment of Diet Coke, red meat, and sugar.
Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Cynde Prodgers, and is survived by his brother David (Jacqui) Hesse, his wife Bonnie Hesse, and children Timothy (Tracy) Hesse, Heather Hesse, Holly (David) Hermansen, Carrie (Doug) Hesse, Samantha (John) Denney; grandchildren Quinton Hesse, Jocelyn Hagaman, Maia Hermansen, Taylor Hermansen, Alysha (Zach Harter), Elizabeth Hesse, Evangeline Denney, and Gable Denney. Great grandchild Atlas Harter.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson, Wisconsin. The service will be live streamed for those who cannot make the service in person.
As a proud veteran who served his country Gary will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
