George Boldizsar

George T. Boldizsar, age 74, of North Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving friends and family, following a valiant fight with cancer.

George was born on January 7, 1939 in Long Beach, CA to George and Lucille (White) Boldizsar, where he grew up with his sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret (Peggy). He attended St. Joseph’s Elementary and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Alameda, CA. Following his graduation, he attended San Jose State University and graduated with a Marketing degree in 1964.

On November 22, 1975, he was united in marriage to his best friend, Jan Marie Henry at San Diego Mission in San Diego, CA. Their marriage would later be blessed with two children, Michael and Arianne.

After spending time in the Air Force Reserves, he took a job with 3M in Marketing and Strategic Planning, and after 35 years of service, he retired in 2002.

George had a great appreciation for the The Phipps in Hudson, taking tickets and being an usher with his “A-Team” friends. He spent 25 years in public service for the North Hudson Village;  Board of Appeals, Village Council, and the Police Commission. He loved to golf, putz and tinker around the house. He was an avid member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; serving on the Knights of Columbus, helped found the Men’s Prayer Group, taught CCD at St. Patrick’s Catholic School, and helped with RCIA.

Above all, his faith and devotion to God withstood all. His dedication to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church was strong, as he was a member of several committees and parish councils throughout his time in the parish. His faith in prayer helped both him, and his family, through several hardships he went through with his health. George was a strong-willed, kind-hearted, and caring individual that will be dearly missed.

George is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jan Marie of North Hudson; daughter, Arianne Marie (Kyle) Bozarth of Alexandria, VA; daughter-in-law, Autumn Boldizsar of Orange Park, FL; grandchildren: Gabriel, Kya, Jack, and Liam Boldizsar of Orange Park, FL; siblings, Elizabeth Bancroft Holgren of La Mesa, CA and Margaret Ann Schatz of San Diego, CA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Michael George Boldizsar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Willow River Cemetery.
