George C. Neubarth Jr.

George Carl Neubarth Jr., age 72 of Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Hudson died Friday February 24 at Banner Gardens Hospice House in Mesa. George was born on October 15, 1939 in Hudson, Wisconsin; the son of George and Frieda (Lampe) Neubarth Sr. He was raised in Hudson where he graduated from high school. In 1958, he enlisted in the armed forces where he proudly served in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Lewis in 1963. To this union, a daughter Julie was blessed. This union would later dissolve. George worked nearly 35 years for the 3M Manufacturing in the Twin Cities. Earlier in life, he was a volunteer member of the “St. Croix County Sherriff’s Posse” under Sherriff Charles Grant. He would later marry Dorothy Gibson where the two resided in Mesa. George loved playing golf, playing cards or pool. He also has fond memories of his trips/cruises to Hawaii, Alaska, or simply back to Hudson to see Julie and her family. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post and an avid supporter of the Phoenix Suns basketball team.  

Geoerge is survived by his daughter Julie (Alan) Fenner of Hudson and their children Nathan and Annie, his wife, sister Marlene (Don) Wallesverd and their daughter Yvette Mader of Hopkins, MN, his brother Dale (Victoria) Neubarth and their children Dale (Theresa), Sue (Trevor) Spencer, Mark, and John. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of George’s Life will be on Saturday March 10th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at The O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson concluding with a graveside service including military honors at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials are preferred.
