Gerald “Gerry” LaVenture

Gerald “Gerry” Joseph LaVenture, age 56 of Somerset, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2012 at his residence.  Gerry was born June 28, 1956 in New Richmond; the son of Edward and Mildred (Demulling) LaVenture.  He was united in marriage on September 7, 1985 to Jennifer Olsen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park, Illinois.  Their marriage was blessed with four sons:  Ross, Cody, Tyler and Dalton; and a daughter, Jordan.  Gerry was employed with Andersen Windows Corporation as a maintenance planner for 26 years.  He loved watching sports and proudly coached his children in Somerset Spartan baseball, football, hockey and basketball.  He was the president of the SAYBA Baseball Association for 12 years.  He was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed cheering for his favorite team.  

He will be dearly missed and remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Jennifer; sons:  Ross, Cody, Tyler and Dalton; daughter, Jordan; siblings:  Gina (Mark) Meixner, Donna (Bill) Mitchell, Al (Janet) LaVenture, Marlene Conlin, Lucy (Barry) Shoop, Ken (Vicki) LaVenture, Elaine (Randy) Forsman, Jeanette LaVenture, Dennis (Debbie) LaVenture and Linda (Wayne) Bohnen; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ron Conlin.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2012 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 South 11th St., Hudson.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will follow from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.  The family encourages Gerry’s friends and family to wear Somerset Spartan, Green Bay Packer, Brewer or Badger jerseys or attire in honor of his love of sports.
