Gerald S. “Jerry” Robinson, age 81 of Hudson WI, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at The Gathering at Boutwells Landing. Jerry was born February 6, 1931 in Minneapolis MN to parents Simeon M. and Alice L. (Carlson) Robinson. Jerry attended Minneapolis South High, and graduated with the Class of 1949. On November 25, 1955, Jerry would be united in marriage to Nancy Caroline Peterson. Their union in marriage would be blessed with two daughters, Jean and Joan.

Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After returning from service, Jerry attended the University of Minnesota where he earned his degree in Architecture. Jerry worked for private architectural firms, and also for the State of Minnesota Architect’s Office, retiring in 1994. Jerry used his artistic gifts to design and build numerous things, from houses to boats to lamps. Jerry also enjoyed jazz music, fishing, visiting the ocean, boating, golfing, and nature. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, and was humbly rooted in his Christian faith.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy: his daughters, Jean Robinson, and Joan (Kevin) Bolling; grandchildren, Jill Alexa, Nicole, and Matthew; his cousins, Lois, Dennis, Nancy, Barbie, and John; former son-in-law, Richard Doyle; as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Alice; and his step-father Vern Bergstrom.

Memorial Services for Gerald S. “Jerry” Robinson will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 14107 S. Hudson Road, Afton MN, with Pastor Steve Kramer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial with full military honors will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
