Geraldine Mary Langer, age 87, of Prescott, WI, passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2025.

Born on November 27, 1937, in New Trier, MN, to Joseph and Magdalena (Bauer) Reinardy, Geri was raised on her family’s farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and deep-rooted values that shaped her life. She attended St. Mary’s School in New Trier before graduating from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, MN.

After completing her education, Geri began working at Sperry Univac. It was during this time that she met and married the love of her life, Alvin Langer. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming. She dedicated herself to raising their children and worked tirelessly alongside Alvin to create a home filled with warmth, hard work, and cherished traditions.

Geri was deeply committed to both her family and community. In addition to helping on the farm, she had a passion for gardening and took great pride in maintaining a large, flourishing garden. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society, a dedicated 4-H leader, and a longtime member of the local Homemakers club, where she enjoyed playing cards and sharing laughter with friends.

Spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy. She loved baking with them, creating treasured moments in the kitchen, and was their biggest supporter, attending as many of their activities as possible. Above all, her family was her greatest priority, and she poured her heart into building a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Geri was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Alvin Langer, her parents Joseph and Magdalena Reinardy, her brother Joseph Reinardy Jr., her sisters Grace Frazier and Martha Reinardy, several beloved in-laws, and dear nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her six children Kathie (Don) Baklund, Kevin (Terre’e) Langer, David (Ann) Langer, Gary (Sarah) Langer, Linda (Steve) Miller, and Jennifer (Chad) Nelson. She was a proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren Zach, Eric, Maria, Holly, Katie, Jake, Emily, Maggie, Matthew, Noah, Haley, Ryan, Jordan, Kayla, Cole, Brennan, and Adelyn. She leaves behind five great-grandchildren Cooper, Peyton, Tenley, Grayson, and Liam, with another expected this summer. Geri is also survived by her siblings: Stella Johnson, Mary Jane Nelson, Ann Stoffel, Mary Reinardy, Gloria Duffing, and Florian Reinardy. She will be deeply missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Geraldine Langer will be at 11:00am on Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church, W10137 570th Ave, River Falls, WI 54022. Visitation will take place at the church two hours prior, beginning at 9:00am, with a Rosary at 9:00am. Burial will follow the funeral Mass in the parish cemetery.
