Visitation

1 hour prior to the Mass Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Gertie’s Life will also be celebrated on Thursday, February 13th from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM with a visitation at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 305 E. Walnut St., Dodgeville, WI.

11:00 AM Tuesday, February 11th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson

Gertrude Elizabeth Miller, age 91 of Hudson, passed away February 7, 2014 at the Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Hudson.  Gertrude was born to parents Anna and Otto Frank November 23, 1922 in Plain, WI.  

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Buzz (Eugene) of 61 years; daughter, Ann; her parents; five brothers and sisters.

 She is survived by seven sons:  Gene, Ron (Kathy), Gary (Kathy), Mark (Elaine), Gregg (Jane), Paul (Susan) and Dennis (Claire); 15 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.  

 Gertie experienced many episodes of near death experiences in her 91 years only to come back to continue to share her love, humor and of course song.  For the past  12 plus years, she was afflicted with Alzheimer’s and resided at Christian Community Home in Hudson.

 Gertie lived each day participating in everything.  She participated in a music activity on Thursday evening, prior to her death Friday, February 7.  She returned peacefully to our Creator at about 7:40 p.m. 

 We are extremely grateful for the love, prayers and support of family and friends.  We are extra thankful for the superb loving care of the staff at Christian Community Home as they work wonders with their residents while doing very difficult work.  Thank you staff of Christian Community Home.

 Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 11th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Mass at church.  Gertie’s Life will also be celebrated on Thursday, February 13th from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM with a visitation at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 305 E. Walnut St., Dodgeville, WI.  A prayer service officiated by Fr. Patrick Wendler will conclude the gathering.  She will be laid to rest with her husband, Eugene at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson (715) 386-3725.
