Glenn Warren Johnson

Glenn Warren Johnson, age 84 of New Richmond, WI, formerly of Hudson, WI, passed away January 5, 2017 after suffering a stroke at the Deerfield Care Center in New Richmond.  Glenn was born November 6, 1932 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Warren and Agnes (Brack) Johnson.  He graduated from Alexandria, MN High School, the Class of 1950.  Glenn proudly served our country in the United States Army as a medic in the Korean War.  He was united in marriage on June 19, 1954 to Carol Rapp.  Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Dale W. and Douglas A.  Glenn worked as an electrician, and was proud a 59 year member with the IBEW Local 110, until his retirement in 1994.  Glenn also enjoyed working 36 years as an electrician with the MN State Fair.  

Glenn was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting.  He delighted in his time with his sons making venison sausage, smoking meats, talking smart, and solving the world’s problems.  He was well entertained watching NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan.  He was also a devoted Green Bay Packer fan, and loved cheering on his team.  Glenn treasured his time traveling with his friends, Norm and Shirley, as well as his time hanging out at Jerry’s Bow Tie Barn.   

Glenn is survived by his sons, Dale (Rita) Johnson of Somerset and Doug (Linda) Johnson of Hermantown, MN; grandchildren:  Brianna, Taylor and Colton Johnson; siblings:  Owen (Carol) Johnson of USVI, Bev Anderson of St. Paul and Arvis Pivovornik of Gallatin, TN.  He was preceded in death by wife, Carol; granddaughter, Kaitlin Jacobsen; and parents. 

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8th at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.  Private interment will take place at the Houlton Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials are preferred to any Diabetes Assoc. of your choice.
