Gregory R. Colombo

Gregory R. Colombo, age 71 of Hudson WI and formerly of Stillwater MN, died peacefully on November 18, 2014 at his residence after a brave 30 year struggle with MS. Greg was born January 21, 1943 in Stillwater MN, to parents Peter and Clara (Marlow) Colombo. Greg was a graduate of Stillwater High School, and later attended the University of St. Thomas. On September 21, 1974, he would be united in marriage to Nancy Tierney.

Greg worked for many years as a design engineer for various companies, including 3M. Before he became ill, outside of work, Greg was an avid boater who could be found enjoying time spent on the St. Croix River. He also loved hunting, Minnesota Vikings football, and restoring old Corvettes. Greg loved life, and showed that to others through his great sense of humor. He will be remembered as a kind and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. A special, heartfelt thanks to niece Susan Sparby and her husband Richard for their attentive care, and to Lakeview Hospice and long-time caregiver and friend, Cori.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Jeff (Sheryle) Colombo, Jon (Tami) Colombo, Tom Murphy, and Shelley (Craig) Berquist; grandchildren, Amanda, Ariana (Dustin), Emily, Evie, Nik (Jen), Erik, Ben, Jake, Grace, Jack, Tierney, and Brianna; great-granddaughter Zailey, who will arrive any day now; brother, Roger (Ginny) Colombo; sister-in-law, Fran Colombo; dear cousin, Steve (Ann) Marlow; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
