Harold Bernard Quale, age 94 of Hammond, died peacefully on December 6, 2018. Son of Sever Quale and Anna-Marie Senn, Harold was born on January 8, 1924 in Mondovi, WI. He was united in marriage to Marie Agnes Brion on November 11, 1944. Their union would later be blessed with six children; Larry, Judi, Pat, Nancy, Diane, and Barb.

Harold and Marie were known in the Hudson area for their decorating business. Harold spent the first 34 years of his life on a farm, where he raised dairy cows and farmed the land. That period of time formed his love of nature and his ability to fix darn near anything. Both Harold and Marie enjoyed nature, whether by spending time bird watching, in the garden, fishing or on long drives. These last years Harold enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, watching old John Wayne movies and watching the squirrels and birds at his bird feeders at Hammond Health Service.

Harold will remain in the hearts of his children: Pat(Charles) Deal, Nancy Quale, Diane(Joel) Edin, Barb(Tim) Bailey, daughter-in-law Karlene Quale; grandchildren: Greg(Kristi) Quale, Suzie Dettmann, Sarah Greifzu, Todd(Julie) Lee, Cary Lee, Lori(Dave) Miller, Tracy Deal, Joe(Adrienne) Edin, Kara(Mark) Grubis, Megan(Matt) Blanton, Katie & Connor Bailey; great grandchildren: Olivia & Jack Quale, Madelyn Dettmann, Sam Greifzu, Kristina & Katie Lee, Kelsey, Brendan & Bradan Lee, Paityn Deal, Cameron Edin, Kinsley & Colton Blanton; and great great grandchild: Logan Lee. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie; son, Larry; daughter, Judi; grandson, Kristopher Lee; and siblings Mabel(Donald) Tiffany, Arvilla(Lyle) Deetz, Elma(Alvin) Bruvold.

His family would like to thank Hammond Health Service for the care given to Harold these past 5 years.

A Memorial Service will take place at O’Connell Family Funeral Home on Dec 15th at 1pm, at 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment; Willow River Cemetery, Hudson.
