Harold R. “Buster” Wolvert

Harold R. “Buster” Wolvert, age 69 of Baldwin WI, died peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his residence.

Buster was born August 13, 1947 in Valley City ND to parents Franklin and Emma (Pearson) Wolvert. During the Vietnam War, Buster served his country in the United States Navy.

Buster owned and operated salvage yards in New Richmond and Baldwin, storage facilities across the county, a rental business, and other businesses as well. He was known throughout the greater St Croix County area from his many business connections. Outside of work, Buster loved cooking, gardening, and hunting. Buster was also a fan of NHRA drag racing, especially John Force. He loved tuning in to Sirius XM channel 59 for the genuine country music played on Willie’s Roadhouse. Buster had a love for flying, and enjoyed attending the annual Oshkosh Fly-In. He also enjoyed traveling to destinations like Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Honduras. Buster was a good friend who had an infectious laugh and quick wit that will be missed by many.

Buster is survived by his children, Dawn (Gary Shields) Christensen, Dustin (Emily Hess) Wolvert, and Candice (Paul) Rode; grandchildren, Denman, Charlie, Brooklin, and Sutton; Beverly Christensen, mother to their children and close friend of 35 years; sisters, Janet Peterson, Jean LeDoux, and Holly King; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A heart felt thank you to Sue Tylee for her support and care. Buster was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Alvin “Pete” LeDoux.

To celebrate Buster’s life, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00-5:00pm on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin WI. A private family burial will be held at a later date, where Buster will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434
