Hazel Spanton

Hazel Spanton, age 96 of Hudson WI and formerly of Ivanhoe MN, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015. She was at home, and surrounded by the love of her family. Hazel was born in Clara City MN  to Henry and Jennie (nee Christians) Stutelberg. She was the oldest of their ten children. Hazel was united in marriage to Leonard Spanton on December 24, 1944 in Minneapolis.

Hazel and Leonard raised their family in Ivanhoe MN, where Hazel was a homemaker for her family. She was also very much involved in her community as a member of Bethany Elim Lutheran Church, church circle, a Sunday School teacher, a Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Ladies Aide. She also enjoyed card club, and especially playing Bridge. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Hazel is survived by her children, Clark (Pat) Spanton, Carole (Chuck) Eidem, and Cathy (Charlie) Lee; step-son, Curtis (Carol) Spanton; grandchildren, Tami Bradley, Craig Spanton, Jennifer Richardson, Aric Ryland, Lori Eidem, and Chad Eidem; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Gordon (Marge) Stutelberg, and Allen (Deanna) Stutelberg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; and grandsons, Troy Eidem, and Brian Spanton.
