Helen Houman, age 92, of Hudson, passed away on October 22, 2024 at Hudson Hospital. Helen Ann Johnson was born on September 6, 1932 in Hudson, the daughter of Elon & Annie (Kukuska) Johnson. She was raised in Hudson. On October 28, 1952 she was united in marriage with Steven “Jupe” Houman.
Helen was an avid bowler, as well as a trap & skeet shooter. She was the first woman to shoot 25 straight in trap and skeet at the Hudson Rod & Gun Club. Helen also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, especially the game 31. She will be remembered for her beautiful flower gardens and rose bushes. Helen was a Packer fan. She was fond of casinos, reading, and puzzles. She appreciated her Tuesday morning coffee with friends.
Helen was preceded in death by: her husband, Steven “Jupe”; daughter, Barbara Ann Houman; sisters, Delores Worrell and Ethel Jones; brother, Bob Johnson; parents, Elon & Annie Johnson.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Diane (David) Blihovde, Ron (Beth) Houman, Tom (Kim) Houman, Dan Houman, Ken Houman, Carie (Jamie) Dierks; grandchildren, Stacy, Lisa, Holly, Amy, Derek, Katlyn, Melissa, Ashley, Anna, Tiffany, and Brooke; great grandchildren, Aeriyane, Calla, Addison, Bennett, Jayden, Lillian, and Kinsley.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM – 11 AM, Monday October 28, with 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St. Hudson. Burial to follow at Willow River Cemetery.
