Howard Frye

Howard Peter Frye, age 94 of Hudson, died peacefully surrounded by family on March 28, 2019 at the Christian Community Homes in Hudson.

Howard was born on April 11, 1924 in Big River, Wisconsin; the son of Edmund and Anna (Wussler) Frye. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. On June 12, 1948, Howard was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marion Prax. This union would later be blessed with a beautiful daughter, Sharon. Howard most recently worked for 3M before his retirement.

Howard was a man with his own agenda. He worked many different jobs from farming the lands to working maintenance at 3M. Howard enjoyed gardening and tending his flowers and vegetables. Even through all his medical diagnoses, he was determined to take care of his best friend and wife. His true calling in life came through his love for Marion and the family that grew from that love. Howard was resilient through life’s trials and his faith in God and the love he and Marion shared, gave him strength to live a long and wonderful life.

Howard is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marion; daughter, Sherry (Mark) Nelson; grandchildren, Erin (Josh), Kelly (Kristopher), and Kevin (Caitlin); great-grandchildren, Miles, Caleb, Henry, Greta, and Louis; brothers, Herbert Frye, Elden Frye, and Jerome “Jerry” (Gaye) Frye; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Anna; and his nephew, Tom Frye.
