Howard Moody

Howard Moody age 77 of North Hudson, died Saturday October 8th, 2011 at Boutwell’s Landing in Oak Park Heights. Howard was born on January 17, 1934 in Hudson, Wisconsin; the son of Ira and Leah (McDiarmid) Moody. He was raised in Hudson where he graduated from high school in 1952. As a young man, he enlisted in the armed forces in 1953. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in South Africa prior to being honorably discharged in April of 1957 as Staff Sergeant. On June 28, 1958, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna Jean Didling and they made their home in Hudson. This union would be blessed with three children; Carole, David, and Diane. Howard was a dedicated employee of Andersen Windows for 38 years; being a member of their prestigious Quarter Century Club prior to his retirement in 1990. Throughout his life, Howard enjoyed repairing and remodeling; especially the family home. He was also more than happy to help a friend with odds and ends jobs. Howard was a seasoned traveler who had been to all continents except Antarctica. He enjoyed golfing following his retirement and having his morning cup of coffee with the crew at the Dibbo Café.  Furthermore, he was very proud of his Irish McDiarmid heritage.

Howard will be fondly remembered by his children David (Crystal) Moody of Centuria, Carole (Tom) Schilling of White Bear Lake, Diane (Jim Bryant) Moody of New Richmond, seven grandchildren; Nicole (Mike) Sealy, Bucksport, ME, Jason (Lexie) Schilling, Shakopee, Cherrise (DJ) Neilsen of Hudson, James Moody, St. Paul, Amanda Schilling, White Bear Lake, Dovlyn Moody, Moorhead, MN, Natassja Moody, New Richmond, great granddaughters Kacey and Alysia of Bucksport, ME,  and his special niece Barb (Kevin) Larson of Baldwin and her three daughters. He is preceded in death by his parents Ira and Leah (McDiarmid) Moody, beautiful wife Donna, and brother Skip.

Funeral service for Howard Moody will be 11AM Friday October 14th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Burial will be in the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 until 8PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home. Memorials preferred.
