Iris Coty

Iris Coty, age 76, of Sun City Center, FL, has left for an “everlasting vacation with the Lord and all the angels in Heaven,” surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS on June 12, 2012.

Iris was born July 29, 1935, in Hudson, Wisconsin. The daughter of Albert and Charlotte (Rinsberg) Lyksett. She attended Hudson Elementary School and Hudson High School. She was united in marriage to Donald W. Coty on October 24, 1953 in North Hudson, Wisconsin.

Iris was a gifted mom of three boys, a worldly vacationer and shopper of clothes, and especially shoes to match. Golfing and the many social events associated with it were a priority. The challenge of raising 3 sons and a husband barely left time to return to work as a legal secretary for several Hudson attorneys. Early retirement was well deserved and the grand children, great grandchildren, plus Florida residency left her busy.

Iris will remain in the hearts of her husband of 58 years, Don; sons, Mark (Julianne) Coty of Osceola, WI, Tim (Loretta) Coty of Hudson, WI, and Jonathan Coty of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Coty of South St. Paul, MN, Amber Coty of New Richmond, WI, Hailey (Tony) Meyer of Prescott, WI, Joshua (Maysa) Coty of Hudson, WI, and Melissa (Jeremy) Pedersen of Hudson, WI; great-grandchildren, Emma, Presley, Destany, and Vanessa; sister, Charlotte Tongen of San Francisco, CA; along with many dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert, Harvey, Oliver, Roger; and sisters, Dorthea Johnson, Nathalie Hunt, Betty Eakle, and Nina Gilbertson.

A gathering for friends and family will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S., Hudson, WI from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service to conclude the evening. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 3rd St., Hudson, WI at 11 a.m. with a gathering one hour prior to the service at church. Private family inurnment at Willow River Cemetery to follow.

Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home – Hudson Chapel. 715.386.3725
