James Curtis “Jim” Solinger

James “Jim” Curtis Solinger, age 64, of Hudson, WI died on April 3rd, 2023 at Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Jim was born on January 17th, 1959 in St. Paul. MN to Leroy and Sylvia (Blackbird) Solinger. He grew up in the area of White Bear and graduated from White Bear Mariner High School. Shortly after, Jim started his career at Deluxe in Shoreview, MN  He worked with Deluxe for a total of 15 years until his area of operations was acquired by FISERV. He remained with his company until 2019. He was revered by his co-workers as always being the “funny guy” and someone everyone loved. Some of his favorite hobbies included enjoying BINGO at Trappers Bar and Grill in Lino Lakes on Saturday afternoons and playing pull tabs with anyone willing to go in on a “hot box”.

Jim was a genuine family man.  Jim met his wife, Wendy in the fall of 1979. Two years later, they married in May of 1981. They were blessed with two sons, Dan and Eric in 1985 and 1989. Jim was always there to support his family. He was the BIGGEST Minnesota sports fan. Whether it was the Minnesota Twins, Vikings,  Gophers, Timberwolves or Wild/NorthStars, Jim was in the know!   He could be seen taking the boys to every Twins Caravan and sporting event across the Twin Cities Metro. He would be there to support the boys through their high school and college careers. Prior to his own children, he spoiled and supported his nieces and nephews to no end.  That wouldn’t change much once he was blessed with grandchildren of his own. Jim attended all of his grandkids’ activities or school functions. If he physically could not be there, he would make sure to send a text asking how things went and “Picture Please”.  His job as “Papa” would certainly be one that no one else could match. He was his grandkids’ #1 fan and he never missed a chance to spoil them, slip them a “crispy” $1 bill or tell them how proud of them he was. He will certainly leave a lasting impression on the hearts of all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory is his son, Dan (Nicole) Solinger of Hudson, WI and their children: Grayson, Brynley and Pryor, his son, Eric Solinger (Kait) of Hugo, MN and Wendy Solinger of White Bear, MN. He is also survived by his Mother, Sylvia Solinger of Roseville, MN, His sisters, Nancy (Jim) Felt of Lynchburg, VA and Mary (Dan) Oelkers of St. Paul, MN and several other beloved nieces and nephews

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Leroy and brother, Ron.

The family is planning a celebration of life this summer. Memorials preferred.
