James L. Donley, age 71 of Bay City WI, died on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the St Crispin Care Center in Red Wing. Jim was born July 23, 1946 in Menomonie WI to parents Charles Hugh and Lois Marie (Nutter) Donley. He attended schools in Menomonie, and graduated from Menomonie High School with the Class of 1965. After high school, Jim enlisted, and served his country in the United States Navy.

Jim worked for many years, and put on millions of miles, as a truck driver. Jim loved taking the time to drive and to see others. He loved to see the country, and was proud that his travels with the Navy and his work had brought him to 49 states. Outside of work and travel, Jim was a dedicated football fan, and loved his Green Bay Packers! Jim also enjoyed golfing, and time spent with close friends. He was a loving father, and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his children, Michelle and Brandon; his grandchildren, Jared, Haley, Domenick, and Katelyn; a brother; a sister; his long-time friend and companion, Angie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Troy; his grandson, Derek; his parents; and a brother.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 N Grant St in Ellsworth. Jim will be buried at Ft.
