James Johnston

James Leroy Johnston, age 76 of New Richmond, WI, died peacefully at Deerfield’s surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 23rd.

Jim was born on February 5th 1939 in St. Paul, MN to Alfred and Marion (Hopkins) Johnston. Jim attended North St Paul High School. He married Carol Yeagle in April of 1960. He is an Army Veteran. Jim retired from a long career at 3M.

Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, summers in Chetek and winters in Arizona. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren!

Jim is proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Terry, Wayne, and son, Gary James (Theresa) Johnston.

Survived by his loving wife, Carol; son Ron (Diana) Johnston; daughters, Kathie (Brian) Spoo, Brenda Johnston; grandchildren, Tara (Kenny) Shoquist, Morgann (Greg) Bailey, Joshua Johnston, John Shilts Jr., Krista Murray, Jenna Johnston, Paul Johnston; Levi Johnston, Mariah Johnston and Chelsea Johnston; Great grandchildren, Addison Shoquist, Lincoln Shoquist, Zella Murray, Zaria Bailey, Marlee Shoquist, and Camber Bailey; Brothers, Richard, Thomas; sisters, Jean Schmidt, Joan Proulx and Cindy Galbraith; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for James will be 4PM Sunday, October 25th at Deerfield Gables Chapel.  A big Packer Pizza party (jim’s favorite pizza) will immediately follow. Cremation service provided by Countryside Crematory and O’Connell Family Funeral Homes. He will be missed.
