James Pribil

James T. Pribil, age 93 of Hudson, WI passed away September 26, 2015 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond.  James was born on March 16, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of I.F. and Rose (Tanner) Pribil.  He graduated from Johnson High School, the Class of 1940.  James enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country in WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam.  In his earlier years, one would always know when Jim was back in town as he would give a sonic boom from his jet as he flew over Hudson.  He retired from the Air Force in 1969 as Lieutenant Colonel.  Along with numerous honors, Jim was a purple heart recipient.

Jim was united in marriage on November 7, 1943 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Stillwater to Mary “Millie” Pribil.  Their marriage would be blessed with a son, Thomas James; and infant daughter who passed away, Sandra Mary.  They were married 57 wonderful years and were fortunate to share many travels together.  Mille passed away on December 4, 2000.  Jim was later married to Colleen Wiseley.  They shared two years together until her death in 2009.

Jim was very active in the Hudson community and enjoyed the fellowship that came along with his civic involvement.  He was a member of the Hudson Water Department, Hudson Planning Commission, Elks, American Legion, VFW and Eagles Club.  He and his wife, Millie also owned and operated Starr’s Bar in Hudson for 10 years.  Jim had a close relationship with his son, Tom and daughter-in-law Peggy.  They are blessed with many cherished memories, and will miss his larger than life personality and spirit.

James will remain in the hearts of his son, Thomas (Peggy) Pribil of River Falls; granddaughters, Jennifer Boles and Elizabeth Triebold; great grandchildren, Anthony Durbin and Stella Boles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

James was preceded in death by his first wife, Millie; second wife, Colleen; infant daughter, Sandra Mary; sister, Helen Tansey; and brother, Richard Pribil.
