Jane Sophia Magsam age 75 of Roberts died October 20, 2013 at her home.  Jane was born March 30, 1938 near Prairie Farm, WI to the late Delbert and Violet (Hanson) Young. She was married to Elmer D. Magsam (Euclid, MN) on March 23, 1957.  Together, they lived near Hammond, WI for 47 years.

Jane’s deep love and unwavering faith in God was a strength to many.  Jane and Elmer’s home has been a haven for a Sunday morning fellowship meeting and a favorite gathering place for many throughout the years.

Jane was a true homemaker, finding great satisfaction in sewing and cooking. She nurtured countless children, influencing them by her caring touch. She eagerly helped any in need, her life serving as a rock to family and friends.

Jane is survived by her husband Elmer; five children: Delwin (Becky) Magsam, Baldwin, WI; Vicki (Daryl) Boyd, Ellsworth, WI; David (Dawn) Magsam, Galesville, WI;  Kerry (Darla) Magsam, Emerald, WI;  Dorena (Eric) Killam, Ripon, WI; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Further surviving her are Brothers and sisters: Karaleen (Stanley) Sternitzky,  Erlyn (Connie) Young,  Vernon (Annette) Young, Harriet (Irvin) Taplin, William (Linda) Young, Andrew (Aleta) Young, Diane (Roger) Hansen, Becky (Kennan) Adams,  Roxane (Doug) Henderson. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson Sheldon Magsam

Funeral service for Jane Magsam will be 10:30AM Friday, October 25 at the Red Barn at West 4890 Highway 29 in rural Spring Valley. Burial will be in the Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin as well as one hour prior to the service at the Red Barn on Friday morning.
