Janet Christine (Ostby) Evjen passed away at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on Thursday July 11, 2024 after a short illness. Her family was with her when she passed. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many.
Jan grew up in the Hudson area, attending North Hudson Elementary School, graduating from Hudson High School in 1972. She later attended UW-River Falls graduating in 1976. She recently retired from Anderson Windows in Bayport after 48 years of service. Off times, she really loved wildlife, feeding squirrels, deer and fawns, in particular one young buck that would approach her as she fed him. But, she most enjoyed her children, grandchildren, reading, gardening and being a huge Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Gudrun Ostby and step mother Dorothy Ostby of Hudson, and father-in-law Richard Evjen of Hudson. She is survived by Pat Evjen of Hudson, her mother-in-law Betty Evjen of Hudson, brother Dave (Connie) Ostby of Hudson, son Eric Evjen (Andrea) of Lakeville, Minnesota, and daughters Shannon (Seth) Slaikeu and Tara Evjen of Hudson, grandchildren Asher, Theo, Johnathan, Kameron, Gunnen and Gauge.

A Celebration of Life to remember Jan will be held from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at The Village Inn, 723 6th Street in North Hudson, WI.
