Jean Audrey Foster, age 76 of Roberts, passed away May 31, 2018 at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond.

Jean was born December 9, 1941 in her family’s home in Trade Lake, WI to Clarence and Matie (McKenzie) Paulson. She graduated from Grantsburg High School, class of 1960. Jean continued her studies at the Miller Nursing School in St. Paul, MN, and graduated in 1963. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Foster on May 8, 1965 in Alpha. Jean worked as a nurse for several hospitals, but cherished the years she spent at the Baldwin Hospital in the OB department. She also helped start the Roberts Rescue volunteer service.

Jean and her family raised and showed pure-bred Arabian horses for many years. She loved spending time with her family and adored her two grandchildren. Jean enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and was a diehard Green Bay Packer fan. She was a gifted singer and sang for weddings, funerals and church services. Jean was proud of her involvement with the women’s group at Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Laura (Charles) Hahr; grandchildren, Jacob and Yekaterina Hahr; siblings, Carole Paulson, Sandra Olson, and Joseph Paulson, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Jim; infant son, Adam; grandchildren, Henry and Nicholas Hahr; infant sister, Sharon Paulson; brother, Everett (Louann) Paulson; sister-in-law, Lucy Ann (Richard) Smith; brothers-in-law, David Olson, and Bill (Mary Kay) Foster.  

Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ, 1001 Birch Dr., Roberts. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Warren Cemetery in Roberts.
