Jeannette A. Herald, age 91, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023, at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

Jeannette was born on May 10, 1932, to parent’s Oscar and Florence Velie in Omro, Wisconsin.

Jeanette graduated from Elk Mound High School, and attended Northwestern Bible College, St. Paul Bible College and UW-Eau Claire.  She earned her degree in English and worked as a substitute teacher and later a Nursing Home Administrator for Parkview Nursing Home until she retired in 1995.

Jeannette was a hard worker, always putting God and her family first.  She raised two young son’s after the death of her first husband Ronald Howard.  Jeannette’s passion was her family and building a strong foundation for them.  Special memories for Jennette and her sons were when she took a break from college and moved to Peru for a year to serve as a short term missionary on the base where her brother Dan and his family served. Later, Jeannette built a life with her second husband Duane Herald and loved spending anytime she could visiting with friends and family.

The church was also an integral part of Jeannette’s life, and she loved her church family dearly. Almost daily activities included Women’s Circle, Bible study, quilting, community dinners organizing backpacks, and women’s health kits.

In the last few months she enjoyed “adventures” into the country. Short drives through surrounding towns, enjoying scenery and sharing stories and memories. Flowers always brought joy to Jeannette as well. She enjoyed having their vibrant colors in the house and would care for her flowers around the yard.

Jeannette is survived by her sons Bruce (Maggie) Howard, Kyle (Donna) Howard; grandchildren Justin (Nicole) Howard, Jordan (Marie) Howard, Tyler (Alisen) Howard, Sarah (Jonathan) Borders, Amanda (Alex) Buck, Allison Howard; nine great-grandchildren; one sibling (Philip); and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Howard; second husband Duane Herald; parents and siblings LaForest (Spoof), Norm, Julienne, Elaine, Edward (Bud), Dan and Joyce.

A Memorial Service for Jeannette will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1350 Florence St., Baldwin, WI 54002 on Tuesday, October 3^rd, 2023 at 11:00.  Visitation will take place one hour prior.
