Jeannine Ellen Durner, age 92, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023, at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, Wisconsin.
Jeannine was born on September 5, 1931 to parents Burns and Cecille (Kelly) Stinson in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
After graduating high school, Jeannine adventured into the world taking a train out to Seattle, Washington and lived there for a couple years before coming back home and meeting the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Durner. The two married on June 8, 1957 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. Together they had two children, Marilee and David.
Jeannine always had an adventurous soul. As a couple, Dick and Jeannine traveled the world. The two of them also loved wintering in Florida for many years. Jeannine lived for road trips with Dick and their many friends. Summers were spent in Balsam Lake, WI which was always a second home for her and her family. She loved spending time on the lake taking boat rides and playing cards. She loved playing bridge with her friends and was an avid card player throughout her life. She also fondly remembered loving to dance with Dick. She would often be found having McDonald’s breakfast almost every morning with her friends or going out to eat for a nice dinner. As a mother she was constantly cheering on her children and showing them so much love and what the important things in life were. Most of all, she was devoted to her church. Throughout her life, she was actively serving, attending Bible studies and helping count the church offering on Monday mornings. She had a heart for serving and will be greatly missed by many.
Jeannine is survived by her children Marilee Johnson, David Durner and his wife Christine; grandchildren Cory Traynor, Ty Traynor, Carly Johnson; great-grandchild Evelyn Traynor; siblings Milo Stinson and his wife Karlene, Dorrine Stinson; niece Mary Durner and nephews Doug Stinson, Randy Durner and his wife Kathy; cousin Kelly Vanous and his wife Ingrid; and many other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Durner; cousin Donna Vanous; and niece Marcia Willcox.
