Jeffrey Joel Johnson, age 64 and 3rd generation owner of Johnson’s Body Shop in downtown Hudson, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 16, 2018, at United Hospital in St. Paul. Jeff was born October 12, 1954, the son of Robert and Antoinette (Tschida) Johnson in St. Paul, MN. Jeff graduated from Hudson High School with the class of 1972, and was already enlisted in the United States Armed Forces as a Marine; he dutifully served his country in the Marine Corp until his honorable discharge in 1974 with the rank of Corporal. Jeff was united in marriage to Madeline Duarte, and they were blessed with two children, Abbi and Curtis. He served on the Hudson Town Board for the last 27 years, first as a Town Supervisor and later, as Town Chairman.

Jeff became owner and operator of Johnson’s Body Shop in wake of the unexpected passing of his father, Robert, in 1995; he brought his quick-witted humor and charismatic demeanor to the family business in order to carry on the body shop traditions of Robert as well as Robert’s father before him. Jeff was kind, generous, and a great role model to his family; he was a voracious reader, a history buff, an avid outdoorsman and always enjoyed his time spent at the cabin with his family and their dogs.

Jeff will remain in the hearts of his wife, Madeline “Maggie” Johnson; children, Abbi and Curtis Johnson; siblings, Jill (John Tebbe) Johnson and Jacalyn (Mark Meierotto) Johnson; nieces, Katie Meierotto and Madeline Meierotto; as well as his extended family, wife’s family in California, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Antoinette.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held for Jeffrey from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at The O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 21, 2018, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Hudson, WI, with another visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Funeral Services have been entrusted to The O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
