Jennifer Lynn Burton, age 45, of Hammond, WI, unexpectedly passed away at home the afternoon of Friday, January 22, 2021. Jen was born the eldest child & only daughter to parents Greg & Cherie Burton on May 30, 1975. She grew up alongside her brothers, Paul & Andy, in Hudson, WI. Jenny graduated from Hudson High School in 1993, but was already working as a server at the Sports Club in Hudson, WI since she was 16. Jen remained in the service industry throughout her career; & worked at many locales over the years including the Hammond Hotel, The Dollhouse, Ras’, & most recently at Cheap Andy’s Saloon in Hammond, WI & The Bungalow Inn in Lakeland, MN. Hers was always a friendly face to see, whether it was from behind the bar, or out enjoying a sports game. Jenny was a sport fanatic, & fiercely cheered on her favorite teams, The Vikings & The Twins, from wherever she was watching the game that day. Of course, there was nothing better in her mind than attending a game in person with her friends & family. Jen saved every ticket stub from every game, & over the years, amassed a collection to be proud of. She also planted & kept illustrious flower gardens every season. Anything bright & colorful made its way into Jenny’s gardens, especially if it attracted the beautiful butterflies that she loved. In the colder months, she would spend extra time reading, (often multiple books at a time), & cooking & baking extra treats for friends, family, & anyone else with an appetite she would come across. Jen’s giving nature & caring heart made her love & friendship something special that will be cherished forever by all who knew her best.

Jennifer will remain in the hearts of her son, Anthony of St. Paul, MN; parents, Greg & Cherie Burton of Hammond, WI; boyfriend, Dirk Vrieze of Hammond, WI; brothers, Paul (Jody) Burton of Baldwin, WI, & Andy (Justine) Burton of Lakeland Shores, MN; niece, Leslie Burton; nephews, Hunter Burton & Hendrix Burton; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family & numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Lucy.

A Gathering of Jen’s Friends & Family will take place from 4:00-7:00 P.M, Thursday, January 28, 2021 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St. Baldwin, WI 54002. Guests are asked to wear their favorite professional sports jerseys & attire. Masks will be required for all in attendance.
