Jens Peter Jensen of Hudson, WI passed away on November 19, 2021 at the age of 72 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.

Jens Peter was born in Braaby, Denmark and came to the United States in 1983. It wasn’t long after that he found the love of his life, Jan Jensen, who he married on June 1, 1996.

Jens Peter was a Master Engineer with a brilliant mind for design and innovative ideas. He was the founder and owner of two companies – Evaporator Dryer Technologies, Inc. in Hammond, WI and Stainless Machining Technologies, Inc. in Fond du Lac, WI. Jens Peter was an accomplished entrepreneur who cared deeply about the people who surrounded him and helped bring his ideas to life and what his companies have grown to today.

While his passion has always been his work, Jens Peter loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling throughout the US in his motorhome, camping, and boating with his family in Northern Wisconsin. Jens Peter also loved flowers and gardening.

He will forever be in the hearts of his loving wife Jan Jensen, stepson Jamie (Kristy) Vermeer and grandson Steven. Jens Peter is also survived by family in Denmark, including sisters Karen Christiansen and Inga Brorson, niece Jenna Larsen, nephews Jens Christiansen, Morten Christiansen, Svend Christiansen, Kim Brorson, Jesper Brorson, and Per Brorson.

Jens Peter is preceded in death by his parents Kristian Jensen and Ruth Sigrid Jensen.

A memorial service will be held at O’Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, WI on December 2, 2021. The visitation will begin at 4:00 pm followed by a service at 5:00 pm.

    • Dear Jan

It was with great sadness we received the sad message from you that our beloved “uncle” Peter no longer is among us.
Despite the distance between Wisconsin and Denmark, we remember many funny episodes from our time together.

Peter was something special and completely a unika. For us, he was our role model and a very important one in our family. Always a great source to be inspired off.

Peter was definately one of a kind and a complex person – on one side a playful funny man and on the other side a very strict uncle from whom we had the greatest respect. At Peters and grandmas house in Braaby we played our very first computer game in 197x, played with an electric racetrack, had to complete hardcore exercise and long runs on race bikes, wonderf vacationtrips to the island Omø, we made funny metal constructions in the metal workshop. Peter also spoiled us with home-made sleighs.

Peter had the world’s most beautiful Danish-English accent, an accent that we are sure many Americans have had challenges understanding. He also had his very own style of clothing with matching clogs – ALWAYS clogs – it goes for real men:) And the completely unique combination of clogs and too small suits was also one of his trends, which we remember with a smile.

Jan, we loved Peter and we love you and we would love to welcome you again in Denmark❤

      Wish you all the best.

    • Dear Jan –
I’m very sorry to hear this news. Jens Peter had a great, positive impact early in my career as a computer geek. As you know, I reported to Jens Peter for much of the two years that I worked at Niro in Hudson.
I always appreciated his practical, matter-of-fact and calculated approach to problem solving and his work. As mentioned in one of the entries above, he did have a big heart and he was just as compassionate with people as he was passionate about engineering and his work – and passionate he was.
I didn’t see Jens Peter much after I left Niro in 93 but did occasionally run into you and him at Fleet Farm or the grocery store.
He will always be remembered and I will always have an appreciation for what he taught me.
      R.I.P Jens Peter
      Kærlig hilsen

    • How does one express the amazing person Jens Peter Jensen was – his selfless generosity, uncompromising belief in all that is good and his unwavering commitment to family and business, even the very best of words, cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we are feeling. And so I honor him, an amazing person who has played a unique and special role in the last 30 years of my life.
I remember Jens Peter a Business Partner and Friend, he will be deeply missed. In the years that lie ahead.

    • Kaereste lillebror

Vi har altid vaeret stolte over at have dig i vores familie.

    • Dear Jan,
It is with great sadness that I have heard of Peter’s death.
I was only a big boy when Peter left Denmark to settle in the United States, but I still remember the exact day and the farewell.
Peter meant a lot to me in my childhood and I only have lots of good memories of him. It will take days to tell all the stories, so I just want to tell you that I am proud to have known Peter.
      Honor be to Peter’s memory

    • Dear Jan,
Willy and I are deeply saddened to hear of Jens Peter death.
What special and happy memories we have of him from our time living in Hudson 1985 – 1990. We were also fortunate to be invited to your wedding back in 1996 here on Omø, Denmark. What a wonderful weekend that was. The distance between us has meant we haven’t seen you much since then, we do know though that you have enjoyed a happy and adventurous life together.
Jens Peter was a kind and loving man and we are privileged to have known him.
      R.I.P. Jens Peter.

    • I’m forever grateful for everything Jens has done for me over the years and taking a chance on me. I’m very proud to have been part of the EDT family. He will be sorely missed.
