Jerome “Jerry” Frye

d. July 25, 2024

Jerome Norbert Frye “Jerry”, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, at the age of 88. Jerry was born on June 6, 1936, in Trimbelle, WI, to parents Edmund and Anna (Wussler) Frye. His family moved shortly after he was born to Hudson. Jerry went on to work at 3M for nearly 25 years. Jerry married the love of his life Gaye Iverson on October 13, 1956 and together they were blessed with five children.

After retiring from 3M he continued to work, most recently at Willow River Apartment where he was a custodian, he held that position until he was 85. Throughout his life, Jerry was a devoted provider for his family, always putting their needs above his own. A simple man with a humble spirit, Jerry found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. He often got together with friends and family and in his free time he enjoyed camping, fishing, and ATVing. He also enjoyed deer hunting with sons, grandsons and friends. He shared a special bond with his brothers and cherished the precious moments they spent together.

Jerry is survived by his loving spouse, Gaye Frye, his children Tim Frye (Rich Henning), Tracy Bjornstad, Tammy (Scott) Hayes, and Todd (Candy) Frye; grandchildren Adam, Brandon, Corey, Austin, Conner, Jake, Alex, and Veronica; great-grandchildren Ava, Harper, Zayden, Malcolm, Laia, Sydney, Cohen, Callum, Nellie, Marlo, Sunnie, and August. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Karen Frye, special nieces Sherry Nelson and Joni McGee, as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Visitation will be from 4-6pm followed by a short service at 6pm.

Jerry is welcomed into heaven by his son Tom Frye, granddaughter Nichole Frye; parents Edmund and Anna; brothers Howard Frye, Herb Frye and Eldon Frye; sisters in law Marion Frye, Colleen Frye and Donna Frye.

In his passing, we find peace knowing that the Frye brothers are reunited in the eternal embrace of heaven. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him. The family would like to give a special thank you to Deerfield and Lakeview Hospice for the excellent care they gave Jerry.
