Jerome “Jerry”,“Lommy” Lomnes, age 83 of North Hudson, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side Wednesday, July 29th 2020 at Glenhaven Nursing Home. Jerry was born on December 22, 1936 in Hudson; the son of Philip and Mildred (Schmidt) Lomnes. He was raised in North Hudson graduating from high school in 1954. As a young man, he enlisted in the Armed Forces where he served several years in the National Guard. Jerry began a long rewarding career with Andersen Windows. He was a proud member of their Quarter Century Club, but was even closer to being here a half century as he worked there in their maintenance department, most recently as an Electrostatic painter for 42 years. On June 28, 1986, he was united in marriage to Iris Richmond Cline. Together, they made North Hudson their home until recently moving to Hammond.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, especially deer hunting with the guys. No doubt, it was more about hanging with the guys at camp while getting a deer was a bonus. He also looked forward to bowling with friends. One of his greatest passions was his beloved car club and his 38’ Chevrolet that was his pride and joy.
Jerry will remain in the hearts of his wife Iris; children Kim (Andy)Rice, Sheryl (Jerrod) Kulzer, Greg (Kathy) Lomnes, Kip (Michelle) Lomnes, Rick (Cheryl) Cline, Lisa (Jay) Lovgren, Jana Jahnke; Grandchildren Andrea, Justin, Tessa, Scott, Janelle, Jason, James, Jake, Jessica, Crysta, Benjamin, EmmaMarie; many great grandchildren; and his sister June(Larry) Dahl.
Services will be private. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
