Jill Peterson

d. February 3, 2025

On February 3, 2025, Jill Peterson, a cherished mother, grandmother and friend, passed away at the age of 63. Jill was born on November 28, 1961 to parents LeRoy and Yvonne (DeLaMartre) Peterson and graduated from Stillwater High School. Jill never tiptoed through life—she stood (barefoot) firm in her convictions, spoke her mind and lived on her own terms. Fiercely independent and unapologetically outspoken, she left an impression wherever she went and with whomever she met.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures–the smell of fresh sourdough bread baking in her kitchen, a challenging puzzle, the satisfaction of a well-tended garden and the peacefulness of a bonfire. She enjoyed camping with family and friends, her morning conversations with her ‘sissy’ Vicki and her daily calls from her daughters.

More than anything, Jill loved being a mom and grandma. She was so proud of her daughters Brynn Zeuli (Brandon) and Aubrey (Mark) Meier and absolutely adored her grandchildren—Lennyn, Madi, Madelynn and Samantha—who cherished every moment with their grandma. She leaves behind her sister Vicki Moss and brother Mark Peterson, many nieces and nephews with whom she shared a special bond, and many friends who were lucky enough to know and love her.

Jill was welcomed into the next great adventure by her husband Bob and her parents LeRoy and Yvonne Peterson. Her life was well-lived, her love was fierce and her presence will be deeply missed. In honor of Jill, take a barefoot walk through the grass, embrace a little adventure and never be afraid to speak your mind.

Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Adoray Hospice, especially her nurse Amber and the rest of the team for their compassionate care and support. Their kindness and dedication made a meaningful difference in Jill’s final days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
