Joan Lund

Joan Lund, age 45 of Woodville died peacefully Sunday morning September 9, 2012 at Boutwell’s Landing in Oak Park Heights after a hard fought, courageous battle with cancer. Joan was born on June 25, 1967 in Baldwin, Wisconsin; the daughter of Joseph and Marian (Winjum) Roraff. She was raised in Woodville and attended Greenfield Elementary School prior to graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School.   Following high school, she received her Associate’s degree in accounting at WITC in New Richmond.

She would meet an young entrepreneur named Thomas Lund. The two would be married and would be blessed with children Briana and Thomas John “TJ”. Together, they owned and operated Lund Egg Company in Woodville for many years. She continued to run the business following Tom’s death in 2007 until she recently sold the business. Joan loved spending time at the family cabin near Minong. She loved spending time watching TJ play football or watching Briana when she was on the Woodville Court. She enjoyed her travels and cherished time spent in Jamaica. She enjoyed cooking, bike rides, and her season tickets to the Minnesota Vikings. More recently, she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her significant other, John Glessner. 

Joan is survived by her children Briana and TJ, significant other John Glessner, sisters Mary Jo (Barry) Lunzer of Baldwin, Bonnie (Gerry) Veenendall of Baldwin, Susie (Steve) Waldera of Blair, WI, parents-in-law Russell (Lucille) Lund of Woodville, brothers/sisters Art (Lynette) Lund of Baldwin, Barbara Lund of the Twin Cities, as well as many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas, sister Faith Veenendall.   

Funeral service for Joan Lund will be 11AM Wednesday September 12 at Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery in Woodville. Active casketbearers will be Steve Bol, David Helgeson, Sue Stene, Pam McCracken, Kevin Lund, Gerry Veenendall, with honorary casketbearers being Dorothy Warren, Eugene Wolden, Natalie Bonnes, Suzie Helgeson, Jack and Janet Glessner, John and Melva Bruder, and John and Rachel Terkelsen. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 until 8PM at Peace Lutheran Church as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday morning. Memorials will be used to help fight cancer and are preferred To Lakeview Hospice, Cancer Centers of America, and Adoray Hospice. Funeral services were entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin.
