JoAnn Longen, age 80, of Hudson, WI, went to her eternal home with Jesus on February 5, 2023. She was born on August 7, 1942 to parents Lloyd and Edith Dahlin. She grew up in Scandia, MN and married the love of her life Walter “Bud” Longen on May 26, 1962. Together they were blessed with four children.
JoAnn was immensely dedicated to her faith and her love of Jesus radiated from her. She touched countless lives by helping them toward Christ and believed strongly in the power of prayer. She had been an active member at Faith Community for many years, including as a member of the prayer team and the Bible group.
Her best memories were made spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, taking walks in nature, and visiting relatives’ cabins. Her hobbies were working in her garden, reading, and playing board games. She also loved poetry and writing poems for family and friends. She will always be remembered for her love of God and her genuine, joyful, and silly nature.
JoAnn is survived by her children Walter “Buddy” (Julie) Longen, Tami (Tom) Datwyler, Kimberly Longen, and Troy (Megan) Longen; grandchildren Tara, Tonya, Traci, Amber, Tom, Tim, Walter, Preston, Morgan, Bella, Anthony, and Abigail; 19 great grandchildren; siblings Marge (Doug) Morton, Marion Hjelmberg, and Ed (Linda) Dahlin; sister-in-law Kathy Longen and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Bud and her parents.
A memorial service celebrating JoAnn’s life will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Faith Community Church in Hudson. Visitation will be from 10-12 pm with a service at 12pm. Watch her service here https://vimeo.com/800597461
