Graveside Service 1:30pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Maplewood, MN

JoAnn Pilaczynski, age 80 of New Richmond, formerly of St. Paul, MN, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glenwood City, WI.

JoAnn was born on March 13, 1935 in Hammond, WI; the daughter of Chris and Hazel Rasmussen. While being raised in Hammond, WI she attended and graduated from Hammond Public Schools. JoAnn was married for many years to Elmer Hanson, to which six children were born (Vikki, Jerry, Gary, Debbie, Steven, Tami).  She would later marry Jim Pilaczynski to which children, James and Michael were born.  JoAnn was a tremendously devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 
JoAnn is survived by her children, Vicki (Patrick) Welch, Jerry (Sharon) Hanson, Gary (Robin) Hanson, Debra Sletten, Steve (Laura) Hanson, Jim (Jody) Pilaczynski and Tami Hanson; brother, Stanley; sister, Shirley; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Hazel; husbands, Elmer and Jim; son, Michael; and sisters, Lorraine and Leona.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1800 Edgerton St, Maplewood, MN. A Gathering to Celebrate JoAnn’s life will continue from 2:30 – 5:00 PM at the White Bear Legion Club, 2210 3rd St, White Bear Lake, MN, with memories and stories shared at 3:30pm.

    • Mom as I sit in your recliner I feel close to you my world will not be the same without you thank you for always being there for me and your unconditional love I am who I am because of all the things you taught be and I’m so proud to have you as my mom I hope I always make you proud I love you with all my heart but know when I need you you will always be there

    • RIP Auntie Joann…..I shall miss you!!! I shall carry many memories of
      family gatherings. Enjoy your new life in heaven with Grandma and Grandpa…Auntie Onie and Auntie Lorry and all that have passed.
