John Arthur Dretsch

John Arthur Dretsch, 51, of River Falls, died Friday, Oct. 17, at the River Falls Area Hospital. John was born on September 16, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN to Ruth (Silbernagel) and Marvin Dretsch. In 1982, John graduated from Park Senior High in Cottage Grove, MN. He was blessed with his first born Alec Mesenbourg, Stacy, MN, in 1989. He was united in marriage to Brenda Lubich on July 6, 1996. They then had two children Jesse and Samantha. John will forever be remembered for the love he had and gave to his family and friends. He was an avid Vikings fan and enjoyed sharing his passion for football on Sunday afternoons in the “Dretsch Dome” watching the games from his big screen TV. Camping and fishing were favorite summer past times enjoyed with the ones he loved. John was a handy man. His career title was “Maintenance Supervisor” so if you had something that needed fixing John had the tools or the solution to get the job done. He also enjoyed keeping his friends and family warm while talking, laughing, and sharing for hours around his fire pit that he built, while listening to Elvis of course. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Tillie Dretsch; Art and Eleanor Silbernagel.John is survived by his wife Brenda; son Alec Mesenbourg, Stacy, MN; son Jesse Dretsch of River Falls; daughter Samantha of River Falls; two brothers, Mark Dretsch, Woodbury, MN; and Mike Silbernagel, Denver, CO; one nephew Ronald Silbernagel, Fargo, ND, and many other relatives and friends. Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, River Falls, WI is assisting the family with the arrangements.
