John Floyd Hildebrandt

John F. Hildebrandt age 87 of Prescott died Friday, March 25, 2016 at Comforts of Home, River Falls, WI. John was born October 21, 1928 in Clifton Township to Carl and Mabel (Stern) Hildebrandt. On June 6, 1950, John was united in marriage to Bernice Kvapil and shared a life-long love of family and farming to which five children were born: Dennis Hildebrandt of River Falls, Donna (John) Murphy of Star Prairie, Ronald (Dee Dee) Hildebrandt of Prescott, Carol (Brian) Murphy of Hager City, and Barb (Paul) Kliszcz of River Falls.

John very much enjoyed his John Deere equipment, animals, and the hard work as a proud farmer as well as selling seed corn and receiving many dairy awards. John and Bernice enjoyed traveling the country together in their retirement years.

John was preceded in death by his wife Bernice in 2007, parents Carl and Mabel, brothers Dale (Marcella) and Bob, sisters Doris (Leo) Ptacek and Darlene (Larry) Gossett and one great-grandson, Mathias Murphy.

He is survived by his children and sister-in-law, Irene Hildebrandt as well as 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks go to the loving and caring staff at Comforts of Home and to St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to John. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls, WI. A visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday. Interment will in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Prescott, WI.

Cashman-Hill Funeral Home and Cremation Services of River Falls, WI is assisting the family.
