John Kullman

John E. Kullman, age 95 of Prescott WI, was given his angel wings surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 16, 2019, and now flies in Heaven with those loved ones who have gone before him. John was born November 7, 1923 in Trimbelle Township, Pierce County WI to parents Godfrey J. and Helena M. (Denzer) Kullman. John attended St. Mary’s School in Big River and worked on the surrounding family farms. John was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Schroeder on June 4, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott. Their union in marriage would be blessed with five children, six grandchildren, and over 59 years of love and devotion.

John worked for 33 years with 3M Chemolite. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and digging up and making homemade horseradish. John also served as a firefighter with the Prescott Fire Department. John had an affinity for old cars, especially classics like a 1957 Chevy. John loved to socialize, and everywhere he went, he’d bring out the good in others with his sense of humor, and his big, contagious smile. In later years, he became the door greeter at the care center. A wonderful dad and grandpa, family meant the world to John. He was someone who was adored and looked up to, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him well.

John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Liz; his children, Jon (Mary), Johanna (Vince), Kris (Glenn), Susan (Tim), and Anne (Allan); his grandchildren, Julia, Jake, Andy, Mikayla, Michael, and Sarah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Godfrey and Helena; his sisters, Sylvia and Mildred; his brothers, Bernard, Oliver, Rufus, LaVerne, and Duane; and a granddaughter-in-law, Jaclynn.

Mass of Christian Burial for John Kullman will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 31st at St. Joseph Parish, 269 Dakota Street S in Prescott WI. Visitation will be held at church, beginning at 10:00am. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. Memorials honoring John may be given to the discretion of his family. Services are entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of Prescott. 715-262-5404
