John L. Anderson

John L. Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2018 at the age of 52. As the CEO of the family business, Idea-com MidAmerica (formerly Executone Systems), he put his heart into his work as well as his family. He was a recognized leader in hospital and senior living communications, winning multiple awards for his vision for the industry and excellent salesmanship. John was known to be a practical joker and loved making people laugh. He was also “Mr. Trivia” which meant those around him never had to “google” anything because he always knew the answer. In his downtime, his favorite place to be was at his lake home on Bone Lake, WI, fishing for muskies and finding peace on the water. John also excelled as a golfer and was a member of Midland Hills Country Club.

John was born March 28, 1965 in North Minneapolis to parents Laurence and Dorothy Anderson.  He grew up in New Brighton, Minnesota and graduated in 1983 from Mounds View High School.  During his high school years he loved sports and was an all-star hockey player.  He also had a passion for music and played the guitar. John graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1987 with a degree in economics. After college John joined the family business.

He was survived by his wife Jill Ann Anderson,  daughters Hanna (Beret), Jaenea (Chad) Doyle and Carlen Gil Delgado (Jorge), granddaughters Grace and Claire, father Laurence Anderson (Jean), twin brother James (Dawn), sister Diane, brother Myron (Sue), step-brother Tom (Debbie) Kubiak and nieces and nephews: Colin, Mara, Laura,  Michael, Matthew, Brantley, Emma and Tess.  John was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Anderson and brother Alan Anderson.

Celebration of  life, Friday, February 9th, 11 a.m. at Nativity Lutheran Church, 3312 Silver Lake Road, St Anthony MN 55418. Visitation Thursday, February 8th at 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. also at Nativity Lutheran Church.
