Jon Kyle Volkmann, age 54, of Inver Grove Heights, formerly of Prescott, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

Jon was born January 10, 1963 in Hastings, MN to Fred and Jean (Sukowatey) Volkmann. He was a 1981 graduate of Prescott High School and graduated from Red Wing Vo-Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Jon lived and worked in Inver Grove Heights, MN at Rolling Meadows Co-Op.

Jon was a proud member of the NRA and was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved spending all his free time hunting, fishing, 4wheeling and camping with friends and family. Jon was a kind, compassionate, selfless individual who would do anything for anyone. So much so that at his time of passing, he generously gave the gift of life to others by way of organ donation. He had a heart of gold and anyone who knew him will miss his big bear hugs and that perpetual smile on his face.

Jon is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Volkmann and his grandparents.

He is survived by his son, Tanner (Lorie Bakken); his father, Fred Volkmann; siblings, Valerie (Steve) Bjerstedt, Stephanie (Chris) Kiecker, David (Donna) Volkmann; seven nieces; two nephews; three grand-nieces and one grand-nephew.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home, River Falls, WI with a short service at 8:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, River Falls, WI. Flowers may be sent to Cashman Hill Funeral Home. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to life-source.org.
