Joy Lorraine Hendricksen
Joy Hendricksen, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, 81, of Titusville, Florida, passed away at her home in Wilson, Wisconsin on October 2, 2024 of natural causes, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on Long Island, New York, September, 13, 1943 to Earl and Gladys Joscelyn. Joy lost her father at an early age during WW2 and was raised by her loving mother in Huntington, New York. After high school, Joy wed Sgt. Harry Hendricksen where they shared 52 adventurous years together. Joy’s passion for helping others was demonstrated in her career as a nurse where she served others for over 45 years; she was loved by her patients and coworkers. She would continue her education at Johnson University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Counseling. Joy was an avid reader and writer; she authored three novels and one children’s book. She held her relationship with God as her highest priority wanting everyone to share in the love and saving grace of Jesus. Joy especially loved the season of fall, traveling with her family, and enjoying a challenging word puzzle. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hendricksen Jr. and her infant son, Harry Hendricksen III. She is survived by her daughters, Kristin Eitland (Kevin) of Wilson, WI, and Karen Lipscomb (John) of Encino, CA. She was extremely proud of her five grandchildren, Jared Lipscomb, Josiah Lipscomb, Chelsie Camden (Gage), Noah Eitland, Grace Eitland (friend, David) and two great grandchildren, Jett and Wade Camden.
