Joyce Couch

Joyce Elaine (Anderson) Couch, 94, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on June 29 ^th at the Baldwin Care Center where she had been a resident for the past two months.

Joyce was born on November 3, 1928 in Wilson, Wisconsin to Alfred and Ella (Borninkohf) Anderson. She was the second of four children. The family later moved to St.Paul and then to Washington State where she graduated high school. She later moved back to Baldwin Wi. Where she met and married Stanley Couch. They were blessed with two children, Mark and Debra.

Joyce loved being a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother and was an avid reader. When the children were grown, she found the perfect job at the Hammond Community Library where she worked until her retirement in 2004. She was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Stan, son Mark, sisters Joan Schneider, and Anita Sylvestri.

She is survived by, and will be deeply missed by her daughter Debbie (Roger) Veenendall, grandson Logan (Sara Nordgren) Veenendall, granddaughter Lindsay (Noah Driscoll) Veenendall, her brother Rev. Duane Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce will forever be remembered for her wit, love for her family, appreciation of a good book, and of course her banana bread and lemon cookies. She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Visitation 3-5 PM, Wednesday, July 12, followed by a private family service, at O’Connell Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin. Memorials are preferred to the family.
